Message Review

The 4th catalyst God uses to fuel our faith is Providential Relationships. God uses people to transform our faith.  When someone helps our faith grow, providential is the best word to describe them.  However, Providential Relationships can’t be manufactured, but we create the potential for them to form and flourish.

Main Point | God uses people to transform our faith, every single time.

Scripture References | Proverbs 13:20; 1 Corinthians 15:33; Hebrews 10:23-25

  • Observation: What do you notice in this passage?  What words or phrases stick out to you? And why?

  • Interpretation: What was Jesus’ original intent in this passage?  What main point(s) was Jesus trying to communicate, and why is that important?

  • Questions: What questions/tensions do you have from this passage that you would like to discuss?

Discussion Questions

  • This Week’s Sermon was about God using Providential Relationships as a catalyst to fuel our faith. What were your initial thoughts or takeaways from the sermon, and why?

  • Pastor Ronnie said, “At every critical juncture that our faith has grown, I would argue there was always someone whose path providentially intersected with ours.” Do you believe this to be true?  Why or why not?

  • For better or worse, our faith has been and is being, impacted by the people we surround ourselves with. Who is someone who has impacted your faith and how?

  • Read Proverbs 13:20  and 1 Corinthians 15:33 together. What are your takeaways from these passages?

  • Read Hebrews 10:23-25. Which truths did the author of Hebrews encourage us to hold onto and not abandon? Why do you think that is vital for the transformation of our faith?

  • Pastor Ronnie said, “The people in your life influence the quality, direction, and destinations of your life and your faith.” Are the people in your life helping your faith grow, or causing it to erode?

  • Pastor Ronnie made the point that Authentic Relationships have the most potential to be providential ones.  Authentic Relationships are people who intentionally help grow your faith, and who you are intentionally helping grow theirs. What is required from you for authentic relationships to form and flourish in your life?

  • What next step will you take for the potential of authentic relationships to form and flourish in your life, and with the people in this group?
