Message Review

As followers of Christ, we’re called to impact people for Jesus—not just through what we say, but through how we live every single day because our actions always speak louder than our words. An extremely practical way we can impact people for Jesus every day is by being faithful with the small things. Faithfulness in the small things isn’t small to Jesus—it’s significant. When we’re faithful with the small things, we build trust and credibility that opens the door to influence.

Main Point: Be faithful with the small things.

Scripture References: Matthew 25:14-23, 26, 28-30; Colossians 3:23-24

  • What small, everyday things might people overlook that reveal much about who they are?

  • Read Matthew 25:14–23. How did each servant handle what was entrusted to them, how did the master respond, and what does this reveal about how God views “small things”?

  • In this passage, Jesus introduced the principle of being faithful with the small things. What does it mean to be faithful with the small things?

  • According to Jesus, being faithful in the small things leads to rewards, and not being faithful results in unwanted consequences. So, what are some possible rewards and consequences from God, and what are some possible rewards and consequences from other people?

  • Ronnie said, “In your relationships, the reward of faithfulness is trust.”—so why does being faithful with the small things produce trust, and why is being trusted by someone vital to impacting them for Jesus?

  • Ronnie challenged everyone to be faithful with four small things: (1) Leave everything better than the way you found it, (2) Be consistent, (3) Work Hard, (4) Be on time.

    • How do each of these build trust and credibility?

    • Which of these four are easiest for you, and which is the most difficult? Why?

  • Read Colossians 3:23–24—what main point was Paul trying to communicate, and what would it look like to approach your work—or even your chores—as an act of worship?

  • What is a “small thing” you need to be more faithful with, and what next step do you need to take to be more faithful?

  • (BONUS) Who is one person you’re inviting to Easter at Relevant—someone who doesn’t know Jesus? Take time to pray for each one.
