Message Review
Identity goes far deeper than what can be created by us and observed from the outside. Identity is something bestowed upon us by our Creator. If you are a follower of Jesus, you have God given, soul identity but if you have not decided to follow Jesus you are a child of wrath. You were never meant to form your own identity; you are not self-defined you are God Defined. The identity that God gives you that cannot be taken away is that you are a child of God.
Main Point | Your identity is not chosen by you its chosen by your Creator.
Scripture References | Ephesians 2:1-10; 2 Corinthians 5:17; 1 John 3:1
Questions

91% of Americans agree with this statement: The best way to find yourself is by looking within yourself. Why do almost all Americans want to look to themselves to find who they are?

You can either be a Child of God or Child of Wrath there are no other alternatives.

What are ways that we can resist the framework the world tries to pull us towards and focus on that we are Children of God?
Pastor Matt said “You were made for the day and the day was made for us” when you are a child of God. How can we change the way we look at our lives if we live with this saying in mind?
Challenge Question | You are either a Child of God or a Child of Wrath, who are you?
Application
This week ask God to make clear to you whether you are a Child of God or a Child of Wrath. If you consider yourself a Child of God, take one next step this week to see yourself as God defined and not in the framework of this world. If you could consider yourself a child of wrath commit to showing up next week to learn who you could be in Christ.
Focus Passage: Ephesians 2: 1-10
