Message Review

When you are We are not self-defined, but God defined. One of the ways that God defines us is as redeemed. Jesus came and paid the ultimate price to enable your adoption into His kingdom. There is nothing you can do to outspend the redeeming power of Jesus.

  • This week Sermon was about being redeemed by the price Jesus paid on the cross. What were your initial thoughts or takeaways from the sermon?  

  • Focus Passage Review: Galatians 4:4-5 (Read this passage 2-3 times then talk through the following points.)  

  • Observation: What do you notice in this passage?  What words or phrases stick out to you? 

  • Interpretation: What was the author's original intent in this passage?  What main point(s) was the author trying to communicate? 

  • Application: What is a take-away from this passage?  How can/should you apply that? What next step is Jesus inviting you to take? 

  • Questions: What questions/tensions do you have from this passage? 

  • In Galatians 4:4 Paul writes about how Jesus was fully human. How does it make you feel that Jesus came as “God in a bod” and went through everything you do to redeem you from the separation between you and God?  

  • Pastor Matt discussed the Jesus knew what he as purchasing before he paid the price. He knows everything about you, and he still paid the price. What does this say about how Jesus thinks of you?  

  • When we surrender to redeeming work of Jesus, he takes all of us, our past, present, and future. How should this make you want to live your life?  

  • In the book of Acts the story of Saul being redeemed to Paul is recorded. Knowing Paul’s story how do you think that God could use your story of being redeemed to help build his kingdom.  

  • Read 1 Timothy 1: 12-17. What do these verses say about the mercy that God provided for Paul and that he provides for us?  

  • What is one thing that you will take from the “Who Are You” series moving forward?  

Application

This week rest in the mercy that Jesus brought when he became human and died on the cross for you and redeemed you from anything you have done or will do. Take joy that you are justified, that you are a new creation, you are redeemed and a child of God.
