Message Review
Big Idea: The third posture we must take for God to “carry on to completion” His unfinished transforming work is priority. Discover what the posture of priority is, and why the posture of priority positions us for transformation. God uses generosity to generate transformation because true generosity is about giving God our first and our best.

Discussion Questions
What were your initial thoughts or takeaways from the sermon?
When something is a priority in our lives, it often is a driver of other things. What is a priority in your life currently that tends to affect and drive other decisions you make?
Prioritization often changes throughout the seasons of our life, and different things become priorities in certain seasons of life, sometimes even inadvertently or unintentionally. Is there something that has become an inadvertent priority in your life that wasn’t intended to be a priority on purpose that may need to be re-examined?
Read Luke 12:13-34 as a group.
What was driving the rich fool to have to build bigger barns?
What does Jesus say is the anecdote to worrying?
Jesus never says that having possessions is forbidden; rather He demonstrates too many possessions can be dangerous if focusing on them becomes the priority of our life. Is there a particular possession you have that sometimes feels more than that instead of you owning it, it owns you?
The challenge with large priorities in our life is that they become a driver of other things. When we aren’t seeking Jesus as our one true priority, then our decisions for Jesus become a derivative of other priorities in our life. Is there something (maybe kids’ sports, a mortgage, a job, a crisis) that is driving or possibly limiting your investment (time, resources, or otherwise) in the things of God?
The thing about seeking Jesus first is that He shouldn’t merely be number one on a page of our priorities; Jesus should be the PAGE on which our other priorities are written. Our priority for Jesus should literally drive every other decision in our life. How does this concept of seeking Jesus first challenge you specifically in your life and your priorities right now?
Read the story of Cain and Abel in Genesis 4:4-7. What was the main
difference—other than one man raising crops and the other raising
livestock—in how these men gave to God?As you think about your Unfinished commitment, will it represent such a significant priority in your life over the next two years that it will become a driver of other things? Does it reflect your first and your best?
What are ways specifically we can pray for you as you seek to take next steps in prioritization of the things of Jesus in this Unfinished season? Be as personal and specific as you feel comfortable being, and consider what next steps God may be asking you to take.
