Message Review
Transformation doesn’t happen in isolation; meaning, we need relationships to be transformed into everything God created us to be. The first type of person you need can see beyond what you see for yourself and point you towards a preferred future. They can also call out of you what God put in you. But for them to be able to do this they have to know who you truly are. Until they know who you are they can’t see who you can become.
Main Point | When you are known for who you are you can be shown who you can become.
Scripture References | James 5:16; Hebrews 10:24-25; Galatians 6:1-2; Romans 14:1, 15:7
Questions
We all want to be known for something, what was something you wanted to be known for when you were younger? (Ex. Baseball Player, Cheer Leader, Spelling Bee Champion)
We all have Gaps between who we want to be and who we are. Why is our first instinct to pretend to be who we aren’t around other people?
One place we feel we must pretend the most with our church. Why do you think we feel like we have to be perfect in a place filled with imperfect people?
Read James 5:16; Hebrews 10:24-25; Galatians 6:1-2; Romans 14:1, 15:7. From these verses what should a small group look like?
Have you ever been in a place in your life you were truly known, if so, what did that feel like? If you haven’t what do you think is stopping, you?
In what ways can we as a group spur one another one towards transformation in Jesus?
Challenge Question | Where are you truly known? If you don’t have a place where can you be known?
Application
This week decide to make yourself known to someone else. If you do not have that place or person where you can be known fill out the T-Life Interest Form and commit to join a group in January.
Verse to Remember:
Hebrews 10:24-25: 24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
