Message Review
We are in a battle daily, so we must daily prepare for battle. One of the ways we daily prepare to stand firm in this battle is by daily putting on the shoes of readiness that comes with the gospel of peace. When we put on the shoes of PEACE daily then throughout the day we experience God’s peace in our lives, regardless of what we’re going through. You keep your shoes of peace on and experience the peace by remembering what Jesus did for us, following Jesus one next step at a time and continually talking to God throughout the day.
Main Point | We can put on the shoes of PEACE daily and throughout the day and experience God’s peace in our lives – regardless of what we’re going through.
Scripture References | Ephesians 6:10-15; Romans 5:1; John 14:27; Lamentations 3:22-24; Philippians 4:6-7
Challenge Question | What next step is Jesus calling you to that will keep you at peace with God?
Questions
What has been your favorite pair of shoes you own right now or that you have ever owned?
Before Pastor Andy’s message what did you know about the shoes that shoes of peace?
Read Ephesians 6:15 in the New Living Translation (NLT). It states, “the peace that comes from the Good News”? What is the Good News and how do you put the shoes on?
Why do you think Satan comes after our peace with God?
Pastor Andy said that Satan comes to steal, kill, and destroy your peace by bringing anxiousness and making your heart troubled and afraid by what is swirling around. He also plants doubt about what the good news really is. What are ways that Satan does this in your life?
Read John 14:27. How do you fight fears and doubts and sit in the good news?
Pastor Andy asked us to pray thanking Jesus for the peace we have with God because of what Jesus did for you. If you did this each time you tied your shoes, how do you think it would change how you think about how you can have Peace each day?
Application
This week spend time putting on the shoes of peace of the good news. Every day remember, reflect, rewind, and renew, celebrate that you have peace with God by saying this prayer as you tie your shoes: “God, thank you that I have peace with you today because of what Jesus did for me.”. Next follow wherever Jesus leads, spend time asking in each situation “What does Jesus want me to do” Finally talk to God often, remember it’s a relationship just talk that to him as a friend throughout your day!
Verse to Remember:
Ephesians 6:15 - For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared.
