Message Review

Our body needs everybody to take extreme ownership of the faith of the next generation, in order for us to live as the body of Christ. If we are going to carry on Jesus’s mission of being his hand and feet to reach the lost, we must be relentless about doing that with the next generation because 93% of people who put their faith in Jesus do that by the age of 18. The ways we can take extreme ownership of the next generation is by giving generously, sacrificing our preferences, prioritizing your relationship with Jesus and by serving the next generation. The faith of the next generation is worth everything!

Main Point | The faith of the next generation is worth everything.

 Scripture References | Deuteronomy 6:4-12; 1 Corinthians 11:1

Challenge Question | How is Jesus calling you to take extreme ownership of the faith of the next generation?

Questions

  • What was your experience with the church as a child or youth? If you were involved, was it something you were excited to be a part of?

  • Pastor Ronnie said, “35% of the Relevant Body is under the age of 18” What can we do to make sure the next generation feel a part of this body?

  • Pastor Ronnie showed pictures and named just a few of the next generation. Who do you have in your life that is a part of the next generation? In what ways can you pour into them so they will come to know Jesus?

  • Read Deuteronomy 6:4-12. The next generation has a front row seat to your life and is always watching. What are they seeing? What are ways that we can continually impress on the next generation the faith that we have?

  • Read 1 Corinthians 11:1. What ways can you imitate Christ better starting this week so others can imitate the way you follow Christ?

  • What are you doing to positively impact the next generation? What is one next step you can take to make an impact?

Application

This week take Extreme Ownership of the faith of the next generation by, giving generously, sacrificing your preferences, prioritizing growing your relationship for Jesus and for some serving the next generation. Pray through each of these this week and take a next step where God is stirring you.

Verse to Remember:

Deuteronomy 6:6-7: These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.
