Message Review

God is the creator of humanity, and stamps both male and female with a divine imprint, in His image. The difference between male and female is woven into the fabric of creation, and it is beautiful. But sin distorted who we are and who God created us to be. Sin distorted sex, which in turn distorts us. So what do we do?

Main Point | God created marriage. God created sex. God created sex for marriage.

Scripture References | Matthew 19:4-6a, Genesis 1:27, 2:18, 21-24; 1 Corinthians 6:16, 18-20.

Challenge Question #1 | Are you honoring God with your body? Are you willing to?

Challenge Question # 2 | God, what does it look like to honor you with my body?

Questions

  • What were your initial thoughts, agreements, or pushbacks from this week’s message? Was there anything new that you learned about yourself or about God?

  •  If you were to define and summarize how the world today views sex, what would you say?

  • Read Genesis 1:27, 2:18, and 2:21-24. Would you say these passages work with or against what is happening in today’s culture? What sections and why?

  • Read 1 Corinthians 6:18. What is the practical application of this verse? What does it look like in today’s culture to “flee” from sexual immorality?

  • Read 1 Corinthians 6:19-20. How does this view of our bodies affect what we should believe and practice when it comes to sex? When it comes to sex, is there a place where you may not be honoring God?

Next Step

God created marriage. God created sex. God created sex for marriage. And God created marriage to be between one man and one woman. Single people, married people, same sex attracted people, old people, young people; are you honoring God with your body? This week, take some time to reflect and ask God, what does it look like for me to honor you with my body? Are you willing to do whatever He wants you to do?
