Message Review

What if the reason our prayers aren’t answered is because we are not praying persistently? When we ask persistently God answers consistently. As we continue to pray God will always provide what we need, which is more of Him. We can always trust our God to provide all we need. If an earthy father desires good gifts for his children, how much more does our heavenly Father desire for us?

Main Point | When we ask persistently, God answers consistently.

Scripture References | Matthew 6:11, Matthew 6:9b-13, Luke 11:1-13

Challenge Question | What do you need so badly, that you won’t stop asking until God does something?

Questions

  • Last week Pastor Matt gave everyone a challenge to pray for God’s will instead of your own. Did you find this difficult and why?

  • Read Luke 11:9-10. What are the 3 things we are supposed to do when we pray?

  • Pastor Matt said Jesus might not always answer you right away because persistence leads you closer to Him. What does that mean to you?

  • What are your thoughts and feelings towards God when He doesn’t answer one of your prayers? Do you give up or continue asking and why?

  • Have you ever prayed about something persistently and through time your request changed? Why do you think it changed? Did God answer your request and how?

Next Step

Last week Pastor Matt talked about praying persistently. What is something in your life that you gave up on that you feel God leading to you to pray for again? Or is there something new you feel led to pray for consistently?
