About the Group
We meet Sunday evenings, everyone brings a dish to share and we eat together. We love to laugh, pray and encourage each other. We spend time talking about our lives, the Sunday messages, different studies and supporting one another. If you love to laugh in a relaxed, welcoming environment, then this is the group for you!
About the Leaders
Chris Hansen: I grew up in the Methodist church but didn't really start having a relationship with Jesus until I was a teenager. As I became a young adult, I didn't give much thought about going to church or even praying so I really distanced myself from "religion." It wasn't until the summer of 2013 that I truly decided that a change needed to be made and it started with God. I took the steps to become Catholic and on Easter 2014 was confirmed into the church, but after awhile I still felt like it something was missing. After meeting my now wife and after doing some church shopping to find a place we both enjoyed, she found Relevant on Facebook and said we should check them out. Since becoming a part of the Relevant family in May of 2016, my life has been transformed. There have been many steps taken along the way during this time but the biggest one was putting my faith in Jesus and being baptized with the rest of my family in December 2018.
Ann Hansen: I grew up Catholic and went through the motions. I had always been a believer in God but never really had a relationship with Him. I knew something was missing in my life when I was an adult so I shopped around for a church to check out. In 2016 I found Relevant and haven't looked back! At Relevant, I learned how to have a relationship with Jesus and an enjoyment for reading the Bible. My husband and I jumped right in, getting baptized together when The Relevant Center opened and have been volunteering in many different ways. We have a kindergartener and a middle schooler. We love cheering them on in cross-country, baseball and track. Chris and I love to hang out with friends and enjoy great conversations and watch the kids play. I'm also a huge Golden Girls fan!
What happens next if I join the group?
Once you register for the group (by clicking the “Join Group” button below), you will receive a confirmation email letting you know that we received your registration. In the next couple of days, your new group leader will reach out with some preliminary details about the location, time, and first group meeting.
At the first group meeting you’ll get to know others in your group and hear more about what to expect moving forward. If you decide the group is a good fit for you, great! If not, you can discretely let the group leader know and we’ll help you find a different group.
After a few months of being in the group you’ll have the opportunity to reevaluate if the group is a good fit for you and either continue with the group or step out of the group if desired. So by joining a group, you’re not making a long-term commitment.
