January Safe Haven Update

Relevant -- Thank you for continuing to invest in, pray for, and support Safe Haven Orphanage on the Thai/Burma border! Check out this month’s updates from Safe Haven and prayer requests!

New Stage!

Because of Relevant’s generosity, Safe Haven was able to put the finishing touches on a new stage just in time for their Christmas celebration. The old stage was deteriorating and was no longer usable for the Christmas performances of singing, dancing, and acting that the children put on.

From Tasanee: I would love to thank you Relevant Community Church so much for our new stage. Wish you all the best. Merry Christmas to you all.

National Children’s Day

On Sunday, January 7, Safe Haven hosted a celebration for National Children’s Day. The kids enjoyed a day of fun, playing games, food and drinks.

Christmas Celebration

The children and staff at Safe Haven celebrated Jesus’s birth with a time of being together, performances by the children, and a yummy holiday meal with lots of dessert!

New Year’s Celebration

Safe Haven rang in the New Year with a New Year’s Eve celebration. They ate and drank together and had a fire, “burning away all the bad” and welcoming in 2018.

Presentation Time

Some of the older Safe Haven children recently wrapped up presentations. Afterwards, they enjoyed time together and with Tasanee. Check out photos below!

A Note of Appreciation

Tasanee wrote “I would like to thank everyone who donates to Safe Haven. I am able to feed the children well and they are so happy here. Thank you for allowing us good health and fulfillment in my work with the children.”

Prayer Requests

Pray for…

  • The children at Safe Haven, for their health, safety, protection, growth, futures, and that each child will put their faith in Jesus and grow in relationship with Him.
  • Tasanee and God’s protection over her and provision for her each day as she cares for all of the kids and carries the leadership responsibilities of directing the orphanage.
  • Cory Nelson and Jerry Rainey as they head to Thailand and Burma from Jan. 25th to Feb. 3rd. They’ll be exploring possible opportunities for Relevant to further engage and have an impact globally on the Thai/Burma border. Pray for courage, God’s leading, guidance, discernment, and direction to determine any new partnerships.

2 Peter 1:3 “His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.”
